S.i.r.a.
, Italian society for soundproofing systems, has been
working for many years in the field of soundproofing.
Our type of activity has contributed concretely to the
common objectives, as set out in the on-going Agenda
21 . Agenda 21 is a comprehensive plan of action to
be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations
of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major
Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment.
The above-mentioned plan of action has already passed
through various stages, starting with the conference
in Stockholm in 1972 and arriving at the Johannesburg
world summit in 2002. All adhering countries were gathered
with one main purpose: to respect the environmental
goals established and to create the conditions necessary
in order to make this possible; through participation,
collaboration, research, tools, human resources and
financial sponsors.
Often the problem of noise is underestimated, as it
is a constant part of our daily life that we learn to
grow accustomed to. In reality, however, noise causes
accumulating damage, in that it produces a constant
and irreversible increase in the hearing threshold that
is then passed on to following generations.
Loss of hearing can be detrimental to relationships
between individuals, making them complicated or even
impossible. This is unacceptable, considering how important
communication is in our society and economy.
As a result, s.i.r.a. resolves to work for its clients,
to respects to the laws in force, to find the solution
for existing problems, to prevent other problems by
predicting noise impact before the installation of production
equipment and to help deal with the bureaucracy involved.
To that end, s.i.r.a. surveys, analyzes, and then works
to resolve all inconveniences caused by an excess of
noise, whether they be from the production cycle of
machinery or from a particular environmental condition.
