Soundproofing

When the word “noise” is used, it usually
indicates a “disturbing sound”. Prolonged
exposure to “disturbing noise” is not only
something annoying but can also be damaging.
The definition of “damaging” is any alteration
that is irreversible. The definition of “disturbing”
is any psycho-physical alteration that is temporary,
while “annoying” is defined as the state
of discomfort that an individual feels when exposed
to noise, along with other factors (psychological, sociological,
economic, etc.).
For years, different authorities worldwide have been
closely examining this problem. As a result, it is possible
to eliminate noise at the source, by applying the science
of acoustics and then creating appropriate soundproofing
solutions, all the while respecting the laws in force.
To
that end, s.i.r.a. has used its decades of experience
to protect those who are exposed to damaging noise,
as well as to help those who cause that noise by their
activity to comply to the limits set out in the law.
